Method 1: The Cardboard Quick-Fix (Cost: $0)

The simplest DIY window AC deflector uses an old Amazon box and some duct tape.

• Materials: 1 medium cardboard box, heavy-duty tape, scissors.
• Steps: Cut a flat rectangular piece of cardboard slightly wider than your AC vent. Tape the top edge directly above the AC vent, letting the cardboard hang down at an angle to force air upwards.
